SERVICES: 3 Pillars, 1 Mission: Emotional Wellbeing
Bright Sighted Media is intentionally built with three connected pillars: 1. hands-on education and community that encourages real human connection; 2. professional production that preserves meaningful conversations, and 3. optimistic publishing through The Good Stuff that promotes emotional and mental wellbeing. Each arm supports the others so creators become contributors, contributors become thought leaders adn together we are all creating a more more mindful, connected and emotionally digital ecosystem that we hope will fuel healthier, happier, more supportive community for our children to thrive in.
Our Studio
Our mission as a company of journalists and creators is to turn the darkness we experience into meaningful, illuminating conversations and connection. We want to help empathic and inspiring storytellers create. We believe storytelling is an act of selfcare and is the cornerstone of authentic connection. We exist to help you share your stories. At the same time, we create “Bright Sighted” content to provide a guide from dark to light. To promote self care, mindfulness and to be good citizens of the world.
How it Began
Bright Sighted began as a tickle in the back of our founder’s brain in 2014.
One day, while working as a TV news reporter in Los Angeles for FOX11, she found herself reflecting on all the stories she’d been covering since she began her career in 2007. Nearly every day of her TV news career was spent with someone experiencing the worst day of their lives. She’d knock on their door, ask them about their lost loved one and ask them to speak to her on-camera. Sometimes they did, sometimes they didn’t, but every time she felt the weight of their loss. The devastation. She’d get the “knot in your stomach” feeling while asking personal questions during an unimaginable time – and getting it on camera for the community to later witness.
The profession is an important one, but she felt the audience never got The WHOLE story. Her 30-minute interviews would become 3.15-second soundbites, woven into the fabric of a story she would then voiceover and amount to a whole 2 minutes on the news.
She wanted more. More for them and more for herself.
Christine had been known for her positive outlook for most of her life, but thought to herself, “I wonder if it’s possible to have more in this life? And, if so, what could it be?” It wasn’t until her first child was born in 2018 that her vision became a reality.
She channeled her news chops and her self-taught marketing knowledge to create a podcast consulting company. The company has had many interactions since then, as businesses do, and now she has real peace of mind that the audience she cared so much about when she was a young tv news reporter is now enjoying 30-60 minute raw conversations shared by herself, her clients. The long-lasting connections that occur during an interview can resonate with the audience and help them truly care and feel understood, seen, and like they, too, can choose to find the light through the darkness.
